Dinah!
3/11/76
Dinah’s guests are Davy Jones, Mickey Dolenz, Tommy Boyce, and Bobby Hart (DJBH).  DJBH was formed after an unsuccessful attempt to reunite the Monkees.  Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith couldn’t come to an agreement with their former bandmates, but there still was a market for their sound, so rather than abandon the idea for a concert tour, Boyce and Hart were called in to substitute.  (Boyce and Hart had written many of the songs performed by The Monkees, and also sang backup-although they never got credit).  The foursome was known as DJBH, and toured as “The Great Golden Hits of The Monkees - The Guys Who Wrote 'Em and the Guys Who Sang 'Em”.  The group made its first public appearance on July 4, 1975 at Six Flags Old Glory Amphitheatre in St. Louis, Missouri, and by March 1977, Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart had disbanded.  Not the complete show-just DJBH’s segments.  25 minutes.   A-

“In Honor Of Bette Davis”.  Dinah’s guests are Bette Davis, Robert Wagner, Jane Fonda and Peter Strauss.  Dinah is so excited to finally have Bette on the show, she has decorated the set with Bette’s favorite flowers-daisies.  Bette arrives on set… looks around, and proclaims “what a dump!”  At one point Bette very badly lip-syncs (or as she says “goes along with”) the song “I Wish You Love” (which she called “I Give You Love”, until corrected by Dinah) from her LP released in 1975.  45 minutes, with commercials edited out.  Some generational loss, and a tracking scar along the bottom of the picture.   B-
